Wager mode
Wager is a game mode like Battle Royale, Resurgence and Matchpoint, but with a different structure: instead of accumulating points across matches, teams face each other in pairs on a knockout bracket. The loser is out, the winner advances.
Note
Wager is a mode, not a payment type. It works perfectly well without a prize pool, exactly like the other modes. If you want to charge an entry fee, that is a separate choice available on any mode: see the paid tournaments page.
How it differs from the other modes
| BR / Resurgence / Matchpoint | Wager | |
|---|---|---|
| Structure | All teams play in parallel | Head-to-head pairs, knockout |
| How you win | Most points accumulated | You reach the end of the bracket |
| Elimination | None: everyone plays to the end | Losing a match knocks you out |
| Length | Number of matches set in advance | Depends on how many rounds are needed |
!modalitawagerAdminSets the tournament to wager mode. As with the other modes, it must be chosen before the start and cannot be changed afterwards.

How teams are formed
Wager supports teams of 1 to 4 players, in two ways.
| Mode | How it works | When it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-formed | Teams register already formed. | Stable squads that already play together. |
| Drawn | Players register individually and get paired up. | Open events, where not everyone has a team. |
The bracket
Once teams are formed, NEMIX generates the bracket and advances it on its own: as soon as a match has a winner, that team moves to the next round.
- Each round can be a single match or a best of three.
- The typical choice is single early rounds and a best-of-three final.
- Each match has its own channel, where teams find codes and announcements.

From the dashboard
Team size, registration type, number of teams and round formats are set from the dashboard, in the tournament wager section.
With or without a prize pool
Wager works as a format on its own: you can run it free, for the competition itself or for a prize you handle outside the bot. If instead you want to collect an entry fee and build a prize pool, that is a separate feature, and it applies to the other modes too.
Frequently asked questions
Does wager have to have an entry fee?
No. It is a game mode and can be run completely free. The entry fee is a separate feature, available on any mode.
How many teams do I need?
The bracket is generated from the number of registered teams. Powers of two keep it clean, but NEMIX handles other numbers too.
Can I use wager for 1v1?
Yes, just set team size to one player.
Does scoring work like the other modes?
No. In wager what counts is who wins the match, not accumulated points: the bracket advances on winners.
