Fair play: reports, violations and automatic checks

Sooner or later in a tournament somebody reports somebody else. Without a single place, evidence gets lost in channels and decisions depend on who happens to be online. The dashboard Fair play page gathers reports with their evidence, the violations you set up and the automatic checks, and keeps track of every decision.

From the dashboard

The page is Fair play, in the Tournament group of the menu. It has four tabs: Reports, Automatic checks, History and Reportable violations. Reports, history and violations belong to the tournament chosen at the top. The written rulebook is not here: it is in Tournament → Rulebook, and the Rulebook button at the top of the page takes you there.

1. Reportable violations

They are the entries teams can pick when they report. Each one has a name, a penalty for the reported team and a bonus for the reporter: they only apply if the report is validated. Set them up before opening registrations: every case already has its weight, decided with a cool head.

  1. 1Open the Reportable violations tab.
  2. 2Under New violation write the name (for example "Stream sniping"), the Penalty to the reported team and the Bonus to the reporter.
  3. 3Press Add violation. To remove one use the bin next to its name.

Note

The report button goes into the ticket when the ticket opens, and only if the list already has at least one entry. Tickets opened before the first violation stay without the button: that is why violations must be set up before opening registrations.

2. How teams report

The report starts on Discord, from the team ticket, with the 🚨 Report button. Reports are only possible once the tournament has started and only from a team that is in a lobby.

  1. 1The team picks the violation and the team to report.
  2. 2It describes what happened and attaches the evidence (up to 5 files).
  3. 3The bot opens the report channel with evidence and description, and on the first report it notifies the staff in the commands channel.

If the team has more to add, it uses ➕ Add more in its ticket: the follow-up goes into the same report, it does not open a new one.

3. Validate or Reject

In the Reports tab you find the ones To review, with who reports, who is reported, the violation, lobby and game. The list refreshes by itself while the page is open. Tap a report to open its details: description, attached evidence, any later additions and the points at stake.

  • Validate: asks for the reason and the cause, like every staff correction. Then the bot applies the penalty to the reported team and the bonus to the reporter, and the teams involved get a notice in their ticket.
  • Reject: you can write the rejection reason; if you leave it empty it reads "Insufficient evidence". The bot tells whoever reported. No points change.

Note

Evidence links are valid for 10 minutes: if they expire, open the report again. If someone else on the staff has already decided the same report, the dashboard tells you and refreshes the list: a report is never decided twice.

4. History

The History tab keeps the tournament reports already decided, validated or rejected, with the rejection reason when there is one. Below are the automatic checks already decided on the server. It is the place to look when a team disputes a decision taken the night before.

5. Automatic checks

Plus plans

Automatic checks (Anti-Cheat Monitor) are included only in Plus plans. Without Plus the tab stays visible, with the lock and the reason.

The system looks at your server results and, in the Automatic checks tab, shows only what deserves a look, with its severity: High, Medium or Low. The checks cover the whole server, so the tab opens even with no tournament chosen.

  • Flag: you confirm the case is worth keeping in mind. It stays in the history as confirmed by the staff.
  • Ignore: the case does not convince you. It stays in the history as ignored.

Heads up

Nothing happens on its own: automatic checks do not take points away or exclude anyone, and neither does Flag. If you decide on a penalty, you give it yourself from Matches → Bonus / penalty, with the reason.

We do not publish how the checks work: describing it would help exactly the people who want to get around them.

Frequently asked questions

Who can validate or reject a report?

Whoever can access the server dashboard: the owner, the server admins and whoever has the NEMIX Staff role.

Can a team report before the tournament starts?

No. Reports open once the tournament has started, from the ticket of a team that is in a lobby.

Can I change penalties and bonuses during the tournament?

You can add or remove violations later too, but tickets already open do not get the report button if the list was empty before. For that reason, and for fairness, set them before opening registrations and announce them with the rulebook.

Do automatic checks penalize on their own?

No. They show the staff the cases to look at; the decision is always yours.
