Running the night from the Control room

On tournament night you have no time to jump from page to page. The **Control room** is the dashboard home page and it changes with the tournament: before, it tells you what is missing to start; during the games it shows who has already submitted the result and what needs fixing; at the end it leaves you the podium and the next steps.

From the dashboard

Open the dashboard and pick the tournament in the selector at the top: the Control room opens (on a phone it is the first entry in the bottom bar). It updates on its own every 10 seconds; the Refresh button reloads it right away. At the top a pill tells you where the tournament stands: Draft, Registrations open, Registrations closed, Live ยท Game N or Finished.

Note

Two different things with a similar name: the Control room page runs the tournament night (the one in this guide); the Production console is for multistream in OBS, opens from Stream โ†’ Multistream and works in the classic dashboard, on app.nemixbot.com.

1. Before you start

With the tournament in draft the Control room offers Open registrations and the link to the settings. With registrations open you see the Signed up teams (players and average KD of each team, with the Check KD warning where needed), the Spots taken with the waiting list, and the Active settings box with mode, matches, teams per lobby and the other rules; Edit takes you to the Tournament page.

The Before you start box is the evening checklist. Each item ticks itself when done, and the missing ones link to the page where you fix them:

  • Registrations closed: close them when the spots are full.
  • Lobbies assigned: every team has its lobby; if some have none, you balance them from Teams.
  • Rules visible: shown to whoever registers.
  • Tournament started: then you send the Game 1 code from the Control room itself.

The buttons at the top follow the phase: Open registrations and Close registrations act on Discord straight away, with no confirmation window. Start tournament instead asks for confirmation and reminds you how many teams and lobbies are starting.

Heads up

Started by mistake? As long as no results or lobby codes have arrived and there are no pending submissions, Undo the start shows up: the tournament goes back to registration, teams and lobbies stay. After the first code, the first result or the first pending submission it is no longer possible.

Note

In wager tournaments the checklist has Teams formed instead of lobbies assigned, and at the top of the page there is the Create bracket button: it forms the teams, generates the bracket and opens the first-round tickets on Discord. It asks for confirmation because it cannot be undone. During the wager, matches are recorded from Matches and the bracket is followed from Leaderboard.

2. The alerts at the top

When something needs you, an alert shows up at the top of the page, with the button that solves it. If there is nothing to do, there is no box at all.

AlertWhat you do
Placement #N disputedTwo teams in the same lobby claim the same placement in the same game: Resolve puts them side by side, with the photos, and you fix the wrong placement
Game N code not deliveredResend the code sends it only to the teams that did not get it
Vision needs confirmationA NEMIX Vision reading is waiting for the team confirmation: open the team to see where it stands
Teams with every KD at 1.0They probably did not fill them in and the balancing would be skewed: See the teams
Teams on the waiting listOpen the waiting list to let them in
N Activision IDs missingLists the teams with players missing a full ID, in the form Name#1234567

3. During the games

Once the tournament has started, the Control room becomes the evening desk. At the top there is the Tournament games bar: for every game you see how many teams have submitted the result (for example 12/15 sent), and one click picks the game to look at.

  • The lobby map: one tile per team, coloured by status (Sent, Waiting, To fix), with filters to see only the ones you care about and the lobby choice. A ring sums up how many have sent.
  • Lobby code: pick lobby and game (leave Auto), type the code and press Send to N teams. Underneath you see the last code sent and how many teams received it.
  • Live leaderboard: the top five, reloaded at most every 30 seconds when results come in, with the link to the full leaderboard.
  • Fair play: how many anomalies and reports are waiting to be looked at; you handle them on the Fair play page.

The team window

One click on a map tile (or on an alert) opens the team: its result in the chosen game, the players, the photos sent, and the actions to unblock it without going to Discord.

  • Remind to submit: a reminder for that game lands in the team ticket, mentioning the captain.
  • Resend the code: the saved code of that game reaches only this team ticket.
  • Open the ticket: takes you to the team channel on Discord.
  • Enter result or Fix result: placement and kills, with a confirmation question if the placement already belongs to another team or exceeds the teams in the lobby.

Note

Result photos open through private links valid for 5 minutes: if they expire, Reload the photos. If a photo is no longer there, you still find it in the ticket on Discord.

4. Tonight's timeline

At the bottom of the page, in every phase, the Tonight's timeline tells what happened and when: registrations and withdrawals, moved teams, registrations opened and closed, start, codes sent with how many teams received them, results submitted or read by Vision, disputed placements, staff corrections, bonuses and penalties, announcements, restarts, warnings, reports and closing. Show all opens the full list.

5. Closing the tournament, and after

When the last game is recorded press End tournament. The confirmation window reminds you how many teams and results there are: closing archives the results and cannot be undone from the dashboard.

Once the tournament is finished the Control room shows the Final podium, the evening numbers (teams, total kills, who got the most kills, duration) and the What to do now box:

  • Download the leaderboard image: story, square or landscape, from Stream โ†’ Social images.
  • Share the leaderboard link: it stays online even after the tournament closes.
  • Duplicate for next time: a new tournament with no teams, the main settings and registrations closed, to open from its own Control room when you are ready. If entry fee and prizes are not copied (only the server owner manages them), the dashboard tells you.
  • Server statistics: how your community is doing, tournament after tournament.

Note

Even after the tournament is closed you can fix a result from Matches: every correction is logged.

Announcements, lobby restarts, warnings and the history of everything sent: Messages to teams.Looking for the Production console, the one that picks which stream goes on air in the multistream? That is something else: it is in the multistream guide.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to keep the Control room open all evening?

You do not have to, but it is handy: it updates on its own every 10 seconds and shows you straight away who is missing and what needs fixing. The bot works even with the page closed.

Can I undo the tournament start?

Yes, with Undo the start, but only as long as no results or lobby codes have arrived and there are no pending submissions. The tournament goes back to registration with teams and lobbies as they were.

A team has not submitted the result yet: what can I do?

Open it from the map: with Remind to submit it gets a reminder in its ticket; if it gives you the result by voice or in chat, you enter it yourself with Enter result.

Is the Control room the same as the Production console?

No. The Control room is the dashboard page to run the tournament night; the Production console is for multistream in OBS (it picks what goes on air), opens from Stream โ†’ Multistream and works in the classic dashboard, on app.nemixbot.com.
