Scoring system and multipliers

NEMIX calculates scores on its own: you set the rules, it applies them. There are two calculation systems, a multiplier table you can rewrite, and a way of summing matches that changes with the mode.

Two calculation systems

Each tournament uses one of the two. The multiplier system is the default.

Multipliers (default)

Placement gives no points on its own: it multiplies kills. Finishing first makes every kill worth more.

match points = kills × placement multiplier

With the default table, a team finishing first with 12 kills scores 12 × 2.0 = 24 points. A team finishing fifth with the same 12 kills scores 12 × 1.6 = 19.2 points.

Placement points plus kills

Placement is worth fixed points, to which kills are added one by one up to a cap. This is the system closest to classic competitive formats.

match points = placement points + kills (up to the cap)

With the default values, first place is worth 20 points and the kill cap is 7: a team finishing first with 12 kills scores 20 + 7 = 27 points, because kills beyond the seventh are not counted.

From the dashboard

The choice between the two systems, the placement points and the kill cap are set from the dashboard, in the tournament settings.

The multiplier table

These are the values every tournament starts with. You can rewrite them however you like, per single placement or per range.

PlacementMultiplier
1st2.0
2nd to 3rd1.8
4th to 6th1.6
7th to 10th1.4
11th to 15th1.0
beyond 15th0.8

Placements not covered by any range fall back to 0.8.

How it changes with the mode

The formula for a single match is the same. What changes is how many teams fit in a lobby and how matches are summed into the standings.

Battle Royale

Wide lobbies, up to 50 teams by default. Long matches, where placement matters because going deep is hard. The standings count the best matches, not all of them.

Resurgence

Smaller lobbies, 15 teams by default. Fast and far more violent matches: kills matter more because there are many. Here too the standings count the best matches.

Matchpoint

Objective-based format. Points accumulate until a team crosses a threshold, 30 points by default: from that moment it enters match point and, to win the tournament, must hit the win condition you chose.

  • Victory: it must win a match.
  • Kills: it must reach a kill count in one match, 15 by default.
  • Both: it must win and hit the required kill count in the same match.

Note

In Matchpoint every match is summed, not just the best ones, and the tournament continues beyond the planned number of matches until there is a winner.

Best-of: the matches that count

Outside Matchpoint, the standings do not sum every match played but only the best ones. With the default format, five matches played and four counting, every team has its worst one dropped.

total = sum of the best N matches + bonuses − penalties

From the dashboard

Total matches and counting matches are set from the dashboard. !configtorneo shows the values in force but does not change them.

Bonuses and penalties

You can adjust a team score by hand, to reward or sanction. Every adjustment requires a reason and stays in a consultable history.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change multipliers mid-tournament?

Yes, but matches already recorded keep the score they were calculated with. Better to fix the table before starting.

What is the difference between the two systems?

With multipliers, placement multiplies kills, so no kills means no points. With placement points plus kills, placement is worth points on its own and kills add up to a cap.

Why does my team have fewer points than the sum of its matches?

Because outside Matchpoint only the best N matches count: the worst is dropped. Check the format with `!configtorneo`.

What happens beyond 15th place?

Placements not covered by a range use the 0.8 multiplier. You can add lower ranges with `!setmoltiplicatore`.
